“队伍六战六胜，我自己没胜几场。”结束所有比赛，王楚钦有些自嘲地说。本赛季乒超赛制效仿混合团体采用15局8胜制。每盘比赛打满三局（比分为3:0或2:1），每局比赛11分制，先累计赢得8局的队伍获胜。在需要“抢分”的赛制下，多名选手面对王楚钦，采取“能拼一局是一局”的搏杀战术。于是，王楚钦遇到了比预期更多的挑战。他在单打中对阵徐海东、张煜东，以1:2落于下风。面对削球小将李天阳、国手向鹏时，他也较为慢热，先丢一局后才成功逆转。“把自己放低”是王楚钦反复提及的调整之道。“每个人都有机会，自己也是有机会的那一方。放低姿态去拼对手，接受几个打得不好的球，努力去想下一个球。”经过几场调整，王楚钦逐渐找到感觉，在和梁靖崑、周启豪搭档双打时，也被团队的战斗力感染。“整个精神、思想放下来了以后，能以轻松的心态面对比赛，同时保持积极想赢的态势。”为加强梯队建设，本赛季乒超联赛规定每支队伍至少注册一名U19运动员，且需要在前三盘出场，因此赛场多见“05后”“10后”选手。对此，王楚钦表示：“中国乒乓球一直以来都是传帮带，这是一种传承。前辈把经验传给小队员，带他们去经历紧张比赛，对他们来说是锻炼。”他预测，洛杉矶奥运会之后，队伍可能会迎来新一轮新老交替。
